Assistance with school guidance

On the African continent, sub-Saharan Africa has the highest rates of exclusion from education. More than a fifth of children aged about 6 to 11 are not in school, followed by a third of children aged about 12 to 14.

According to UIS data, nearly 60 per cent of young people aged about 15 to 17 are not in school. (UNESCO) If urgent measures are not taken, the situation will certainly worsen, as the region faces an increasing demand for education due to the constant increase in its school-age population.

Girls' education is a major priority. In the region, 9 million girls aged about 6 to 11 years will never go to school compared to 6 million boys, according to UIS data. Their disadvantage begins early: 23% of girls do not attend primary school compared to 19% of boys. In adolescence, the exclusion rate for girls is 36% compared to 32% for boys. (UNESCO)

Of course, there are many disparities from one country to another.
