He returned to France for a short period of time at the local office of the Central bank of Central African Countries (BEAC). Because the new independant state of Cameroon, was looking for all young qualified citizens he returned to Yaounde. He quickly received an offer to work for the government, he joined the National Investment Company (Societe Nationale d’Investissements -SNI), a state owned public invest holding, equivalent of a Sovereign Fund. This company was created by the cameroonian government to invest and take participations in any project in the country. He quickly reached the position of Deputy General manager (1973) in 8 years, and just a year later in 1974, the Cameroonian government, appointed him as the Cameroonian candidate for the position of deputy General Manager, at the french Bank, Société Générale de Banque. In the early 70’s, the policy of the government was to favor Cameroonian nationals to reach top executive positions (local content).


The Cameroonian government's policy, after independence in 1960, on the promotion of young professionals to decision-making positions (Local Content), enabled it to join the general management of Société Générale de Banque au Cameroun (SGBC), now renamed SOCIETE GENERALE Cameroun (SGC) as Deputy Managing Director from 1973 to 1977. Then as CEO for nearly 20 years, and then as Chairman of the Board of Directors, until his resignation due to illness in June 2009. 


He fought for 4 years against Alzheimer's disease, which progressed quite rapidly, until his death on March 22, 2013.
His disappearance is a shock to his family, and to those who knew him. 

He grew up and went to school with the Jesuits. He was a fervent Christian, an active member of the church choir, and President of several Catholic associations in the parish of Saint Louis de Douala-Bonabéri, where he resided. He was very cultured, humble and very discreet. Always open to discussion and advice. Very active through social works for women and youth.
